Experience (2 hours):
- Wear a beekeeper suit.
- Use a bee smoker.
- Watch bees bringing in pollen.
- Find out how bees organise their space.
- Learn about bee jobs.
- Weather dependent:
- Look for the queen bee, eggs and small larvae.
- Hold a frame of bees with honey and/or brood.
- Bond with bees by holding hundreds of them in your gloved hand and feeling their vibrations.
- Take photos to remember the event.
Provided:
- Suits and gloves.
- Bees and hives.
- Honey for tasting.
- Local honey for purchase.
Bring:
- Closed in sturdy shoes or boots..
- Thick socks.
- Water bottle.
- Camera for photo opportunities (Photos can be taken for you and sent in a text).
