​My Introduction to Backyard bee-caring is suited to those interested in caring for between one and three honey bee hives in their backyard.

The focus is on giving you information that helps you appreciate your bees. I call it a bee-caring method due to me supporting the focus you choose; whether to enjoy the natural processes of bees or to maximise the honey yield.

I work with you one-to-one at your location. This enables us to explore all your questions, identify where you might place hives and to consider available storage spaces.​​

​In this 1 to 2 hour session we can explore topics important to you, such as:

• How to keep costs down.
• Agriculture Victoria (AgVic) requirements.
• Responsibilities and commitments: time, space and costs.
• Hives: types of hives and their pros and cons, parts of the hive.
• Planning and preparation: placement of a hive.
• Tools and equipment.
• Inside the hive: identifying brood, larvae, eggs, pollen, honey and nectar.
• Basic pests and diseases.
• Options for harvesting honey.
